THE BALD EAGLE LAKE MASTER BATH

The couple’s master bathroom connected with the hall guest bathroom in this 1971 house. The bathrooms did not reflect the beautiful, mid-century modern aesthetic of the rest of the home. The owners wanted a spa-like steam shower in their private master bath and powder room with a separate entry for guests.

To create space for the powder room two hall closets were annexed. In the powder bath, to recapture some of the removed storage, a cabinet was added above the toilet and in the master bath a linen closet and an open half wall were included.

The addition of a long window to the master bath increased natural light, and to bounce the light around the room a large mirror was installed. The glass shower surround allows light into the shower. Pale grey plank flooring, large format tile on the walls and in the steam shower, and rift white oak slab cabinetry mirror the mid-century modern aesthetic the homeowners wanted.
