This family of six had outgrown their dated and poorly designed kitchen. They wanted a baking station, an island that could seat six, appliances capable of high capacity cooking and refrigeration, ample storage for dry goods and dedicated work aisles. They desired a space that flowed from one room to the next, maintaining the style of their Victorian era home.
To add height, the soffits were removed and the cabinets were raised to the ceiling, requiring plumbing to be re-routed. The sink, baking station, and range are located on three sides of the island to incorporate dedicated work zones. To ease food preparation a prep sink was installed on the island. A baking station with Carrara marble counters and birch shelves above provide easy-access to ingredients. A 48” Wolf range and vent hood surround were stained to match the shelves and create a striking focal point.
