With a newly remodeled kitchen, our clients were ready for a refresh in the adjoining living room and dining room of this 1930 bungalow. Wood blinds covered the windows and blocked the natural light, exposed bulbs on the chandelier were harsh on the eye and the seating throughout the space lacked comfort. Taking inspiration from the homeowners’ vintage furniture pieces, the furnishings and fixtures were elevated to bring a layer of softness and refinement to the space without compromising on performance. Custom linen drapery and woven shades bring warmth and texture to the space, while removable chair cushions in performance chenille provide practical comfort. The bold, earthy color palette combined with accents of marble, walnut, rattan, black, and brass evoke the mid-century style that the homeowners love. Now layered with softness, warmth, and intention, these spaces strike a thoughtful balance between vintage character and modern comfort.
