THE JAMES BATH

When serious water damage and structural issues were discovered in their primary bath, these homeowners jumped into a challenging remodeling project with both feet. They had inherited a pretty-on-the-outside bathroom that didn’t function well, and additionally, everything from the structural components to fixtures and finishes needed to be reconsidered and replaced. It became a perfect opportunity to rethink the function, refine the layout and create a space that was a reflection of their unique personal style. Dark, moody blacks and burgundy paired with Calacatta Viola Marble and antique brass create a sophisticated palette that is both dramatic and serene. His-and-Hers custom floating vanities drastically improve daily function. Replacing the seldom-used soaking tub with a luxe shower system makes better use of the limited square footage. New tall cabinetry adds plenty of hidden storage, and the sleek aesthetic is layered with details that speak to the original architecture of the home. A true design collaboration and a labor of love for the homeowners, this beautiful space can now serve as a sanctuary for many years to come.
